To Breathe or Not to Breathe

One of the nicest things that happen to your self-esteem and ego after you dabble with entrepreneurship (even if you are a failure) is you start coming close to a wiki on ‘How to be an Entrepreneur?’

When people come up to me and ask me, do you think this is the right time to become an entrepreneur, there are two things that come to my mind. One, the answer to the question is as simple as an answer to the question ‘Should I breathe to live?’ Second, what exactly do you mean by becoming an entrepreneur?

Couple of things that should clear the air for all of you who might have a similar question:
~ There is no right or wrong time to become an entrepreneur
~ Entrepreneurship cannot be a choice. Don’t become an entrepreneur because your friend is one, or because it is an ‘in thing’ or even worse, because you think you reached a stagnation in your current job.
~ Don’t think about a business plan, numbers etc. That’s business and not entrepreneurship. You have smarter people who can look at this.
~ Can you do what you intend to do as an entrepreneur for the rest of your life? If the answer is no, don’t bother to ponder more.
~ Lastly, if you are passionate about something, you think you have a brilliant idea that can change the world to an extent (big or small) and you are not doing anything about it, that’s sacrilege.
