First off, thanks to all my managers because of whom I am what I am today.
Just like anyone, I’ve had my share of good and bad managers and no matter which group they belonged to, they have been instrumental in making me a good manager. When I say a good manager, I am not restricting myself to managing the team. The learnings have been in managing my time, personal life, team, work and more importantly, myself.
There is a world of learning with every management style, but when I recently looked back on my achievements (glad to have had some awesome team members), I attribute it to my not-so-good managers from whom I learnt how a manager should not be.
My Take:
You’ve been a good manager if you are smiling in success. You’ve been a great manager if your team is smiling in their failures.
