Are you helping me miss the Point?

How many times did you miss the most important point because of the noise around it?

I recently booked tickets to a movie with my card. You are usually sent a confirmation email and message that comes along with additional marketing lingo (which I choose to ignore). Apparently, a new rule about 'carrying the debit/credit card used to book tickets' was communicated in the email and SMS. I would have been floored had they called and let me know about such an important change? 

Thanks to all the noise they've been creating, I missed the point.
