Important versus Urgent

Those set of banners that need to be pushed live.
That piece of code that need to be tested on QA server.
That sales call that just came in.
That incorrect ad copy that needs an edit.

The above and their look alikes are urgent and need your attention. I agree!

10 minute dinner with your parents.
5 minutes chat with your kids on how wonderful they’ve been with their amateur drawings.
2 minute call to your friend thanking him for being there for you.
30 sec kiss to your wife professing your undying love for her.

Side Note: Interestingly, your career will thrive when you allow your life to be driven by what is important (not urgent).
