Allow to Fail

I suddenly got up in the middle of the night. I tried to put my restless mind to sleep without much success. Riya (my 5 year old) won again and it worried me.

I can live with her winning all the time but cannot with her not failing. To me, if she ain’t failing, she ain’t trying anything new.

Its true for us as well. Try doing the same thing that made you to win last time. Chances are it won’t work this time and worst, might actually work against you. If you want to play it safe, you will loose ground even before you realize.

But we are human and fear failing. The question is, what would you do if you did not fear failing? Here’s the good news. There are a lot organizations, top managements, VCs, and Managers out there who will allow you to fail (and these are the people you should work with). If you are on the other side, you aren’t doing any good by not allowing your team to fail.

Side Note: Make failing a habit. You will be a better person than what you are today.
