I swear Daddy

Riya: I swear I am telling the truth.

Daddy: Why would you swear darling? Am I to believe that every other time when you are speaking, you are telling lies?

Riya: (puzzled, just leaves the room only to come back after a few mins). You are right Daddy. I don’t have to swear. I was trying to make the other person believe that I was telling the truth by swearing.

Daddy: (clearly impressed by her thought process and more to myself) I think its not the ‘fact’ that they don’t believe. It might be ‘you’ who they don’t trust completely.

Side Note: For some its data, for some its time sheets, for some its tracking tools. If we are using these tools to build trust or measure integrity, then there is fundamentally wrong with how we are building a relation.
