Excuse me, are you wishing me on this all-important day of my life or you trying to be a mean marketer.
Of the 10 emails that I got from different business entities, none of them kept it personal. They started well. The email/message had my name and the content started wishing me on my birthday and how glad they are about it.
However, I was almost falling in love with them until they ruined it by offering me their products and services at a discounted price. With so many efforts of selling being bombarded at us, we are looking for a genuine conversation. If you thought this was personal, get this right, it is NOT.
“But its your birthday and we wanted you to have a great time…” It would have worked a couple of years ago, but today it falls flat.
